Fileblur |
Security is not often taken seriously. Although, the creators of FileBlur do.
FileBlur uses a hardly to understand algorhythm to scramble the files. The filenames themselves are also not
forgotten and are also scrambled, so it's very hard to trace back what kind of data is stored on the
PC.
When a keyword is used (or better: a keyphrase) it's only possible to decode the data by entering the
exact same phrase as the one that was used during the coding phase. No extra information is stored in the
scrambled files so one has to be very accurate to be able to decode the files correctly again.
After the decoding phase the files will be exactly the same as before the coding. The files time and date
are not changed and also the attributes are not changed in anyway.
During the coding / decoding phase data is written directly into the same file space, also no copy is made
(did would be unsafe). Therefor it's possible to code / decode files even if there's no space left on the
medium. Furthermore, the process doesn't cause any file fragmentation.
Because of FileBlur, there's no need for the data to be reveiled to unauthorized persons.
